Typically lasting 31 seconds, these videos showcase segments from "Harlem Shake" by electronic musician Baauer. The format often features an initial 15-second solo dance segment followed by a sudden transition to a collective frenzy expressed through eccentric dance moves when the bass kicks in. This style of dancing should not be mistaken for the authentic Harlem Shake dance.

In the latter part of these videos, participants commonly sport minimal clothing, wild costumes, or unusual props while engaging in quirky performances.
